Did I read correctly that Crème Brûlée did not originate in France (Hence the French name) but in Cambridge, England!?!
Anyhoo, Crème Brûlée is one of my favourite desserts and really hard to make. If you have the patience and determination, I would give it a go.
My thought is if you want to achieve a delicious Crème Brûlée with a rich and smooth custard base and an aromatic caramel top layer, you must do it properly!
There are plenty of Crème Brûlée recipes in books and online, from easy to utterly complicated methods. I’ve used the recipe from Sucre The Recipe by Laduree. It took me a couple of hours to prep and bake but it so worth it.
